At night, Hong Kong’s sky is not dark

.. and this is not really a surprise given the amount of electriciy used to power those huge lights on top of the buildings. One quickly gets used to walking in Hong Kong by midnight when the sky is rather brown and coloured than black. This is a striking difference with Beijing for example, where, at night, sky is dark, probably also because buildings are much lower than in Hong Kong. Seeing the lights from the IFC reflecting in the clouds above is for sure another striking image of the way Hong Kong keeps on being awake even in the middle of the night. The picture above is taken from the Central Ferry Piers, looking towards the East (Admiralty and Wan Chai).
