April 21, 2008Cheap hardware in Computer Centers

In the last weeks we have already covered a few shops where to buy electronic goods: Fortress, Citicall or Gome. Good sides are: rather cheap prices, easy access everywhere in Hong Kong given the huge number of outlets and large choice. Still, it’s a little harder when it comes to negotiating, and sellers usually prefer to add goodies than to lower the price. If you have some time to walk around and try to have better prices for your hardware, then just go to computer centers. The picture above was taken in Mong Kok’s computer center (two streets eastwards from the Mong Kok MTR station exit E), a 3-floors building full of small shops. Here you can walk around and check prices from one shop to the other (don’t forget to check the 2nd and 3rd floors where prices may be a little cheaper). Once you find the best deal, it’s time to negotiate and try to have it at a better price. Remember: don’t hesitate to negotiate; when the seller can’t go below a certain price he’ll let you know anyway.
